The Peacock Feather – First Person Narrative Essay Example

From First Person P.O.V.

“Three weeks ago I was sitting in the back seat of our white Saab, listening to soft Brazilian guitar music and watching the thick forest wiz by as my dad drove through winding wooded roads and my Mom, our designated navigator, kept her eyes fixed on the dashboard’s map trying to see if there were any more sights of interest up ahead. “

It had been a long adventurous day and I was relaxed, very tired and my eyes were slowly closing as we rounded a sharp bend in the road when suddenly, without warning. my body lurched forward against my seatbelt-strap, and my head dropped down then swung back as my dad brought the car to an emergency stop twenty feet in front of what looked, amazingly, like a radiantly feathered peacock standing in the center of the road looking directly at me in terror.  He was balanced on one good leg while he dangled the other bent and injured claw a few inches above the blacktop.  And, we all stared back at the large bird, frozen.
